[Eastertide, day 7] joy sadhana

"Joy Sadhana is a daily practice in the observation of joy."
-mylittleredgirl [more info]

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares YHWH, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Good things about today:
  • sleep!
I went to bed before 10pm, woke up I think 4 times (sensing it was bright out each time), and when I finally got up, it was indeed (as I had suspected) ~9am.
  • bff phonecall
    • I have a best friend who wants me to feel able to tell her about all the Stuff in my life, even when she has all the negative feels about said Stuff.
  • Say Anything ... was not what I was expecting, but it grew on me -- and given that the disc froze at 2:58min, I'm pleased I was in fact able to watch (nearly) the whole thing -- I bicycled to work and watched it on my computer there, and it froze there again, but I could skip to the next scene (so yeah, I still haven't seen the graduation speech) and the remaning pauses it moved through
Things I did well today:
  • errands -- which took longer than the 2.5hrs I had budgeted on account of my not having planned as thoroughly as would have been optimal to compensate for my suboptimal sense of direction, but I accomplished everything and the bicycling itself felt fairly auto-pilot (tho I did opt to walk my bike through the Powder House Rotary and the Davis Square intersection on my way to Wheelworks)
    • got my bicycle tires re-inflated at Wheelworks
    • restocked on Trader Joe's Raw Creamy Unsalted almond butter
    • returned my MicroCenter notebook charger
    • got a copy of Say Anything from CPL (which I don't think I'd been in since my dad used to stop there in conjunction with Cambridge doctors appointments when I was wee, so I'm not sure I even knew the new glass building -- which apparently opened on November 8, 2009 -- even existed)
  • laundry
Things I am looking forward to (doing [better]) tomorrow:
["anything that you're looking forward to, that means you're facing tomorrow with joy, not trepidation," as Ari says]
  • pre-worship Bible study (even tho it means getting up ~early)
  • church
  • Scott birthday lunch
