One thing at a time.
Take it one thing at a time.
You can do it.
With much love and peace of mind,
Talked to Pat Skarda this morning. I could do a Praxis internship at home and keep the $2,000. Praxis is a one-time thing, and i have to work at least 220 hours to qualify. I have 6 weeks of summer before Oxford, so that’s about 40 hours a week. And that averages out to about $300 a week, even subtracting the cost of traveling in and out of Boston every day, which is more than i ever make at my “real job.” Michele’s gonna cry when i tell her i won’t be working for 12 weeks out of the summer. (Though before i go to Oxford i can still work weekends.) Now to find a place in Boston i can volunteer at 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 6 weeks (May 12 - July 3). I can also perhaps squeeze some money out of the Student Aid Office and the Office of International Study. Errands tomorrow include picking up the appropriate paperwork. And she said she would write me a letter of recommendation if i do definitely apply. Smith had better not expect any money from me or my family for next year ‘cause we’re gonna be so tapped out. I think it’ll be worth it, though.
I have accomplished a number of small things today. This is good. Now on to the real work. And perhaps some french fries from Davis. I didn’t leave dinner hungry, but now i am.
P.S. I don’t like sweatshirts, or sweaters. I want to wear short-sleeved shirts with my zip-up sweatshirt over them.
