not a waste of a Saturday

[gym] Sept. 21-25

[~7-8hrs sleep] Monday [gym] 45min treadmill (4.0incline, 4.7mph)
Didn't feel as beat as I did last week, which is good.

[~7.5hrs sleep] Tuesday [gym] ~45min weight room
I was thinking I should really do weight room 3 times a week instead of cardio 3 times a week, because the strength training works more of my body that I don't normally work -- but I don't want to.

[~6.5hrs sleep] Wednesday [gym] 45min treadmill (4.0incline, 4.7mph)

[~ 6? 7? hrs sleep] Thursday [gym] ~40min weight room

[~5.5hrs sleep] Friday [gym] 45min treadmill (4.0incline, 4.7mph)

One reason to get enough sleep during the week: that way I don't feel lethargic all day on Saturday.

[gym] Sept. 28 - Oct. 2

[~7-8hrs sleep] Monday [gym] 45min treadmill (4.0incline, 4.7mph)
I felt physically tired from the beginning, which surprised me.
I am actually considering investing in some small portable music player, because I get through it much more easily when I lose myself in the music videos

[~6.5hrs sleep] Tuesday [gym] ~40min weight room

[~8hrs sleep] Wednesday [gym] 45min treadmill (4.0incline, 4.7mph)

[~9hrs sleep] Thursday [gym] ~45min weight room
Still feeling physically worn out before I even start.

[~8hrs sleep] Friday [gym] 45min treadmill (4.0incline, 4.7mph)

I gave blood at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford ~12:30 today.  When they called me on Sunday, I was surprised, not having thought it had been long enough since I last gave blood, but apparently that last was August 6.

So I weighed myself at the gym yesterday -- because the form for giving blood asks your weight, and I want to be accurate.

Highlight for weight numbers and talk about food consumption:

Wearing just a towel, I weighed 132.

August 6, I wrote: "With clothes on, and with phone&keys&etc. in my pockets, I weighed 132 lb.  Last time -- when I think I weighed myself just wrapped in a towel -- I weighed 137 lb.  I suspect this may be linked to my not having eaten a huge amount at WriterCon."

I had kind of expected to weigh less because I feel like I haven't been eating enough this week -- I've done almost no snacking (and I had no processed sugar at all on Tuesday or Wednesday), have been just been having 3 meals a day, except that I always skimp on dinner, which concerns me.  I've actually been wearing my hoodie outside a bunch this weekend, which concerns me, and which I suspected was related to my not having been getting enough sleep and arguably enough calories (see also my physical fatigue at the gym).  On Friday, L. mentioned that it got colder than usual faster than usual -- so possibly my body is just adjusting.

But on the other hand, 132 seemed freakishly low to me last time (since my weight prior to then had been fluctuating between 134 and 138).  That my weight is the SAME as it was 8 weeks ago isn't exactly cause for serious concern about starving myself, I realize.  And I've been able to do my usual workouts at the gym, despite feeling more tired than usual.  I would really like to be getting more sleep, though, and bonus maybe eating slightly better.

I didn't get to bed until like 1:30am, but I still woke up a few times before I got up with my 10:30am alarm.  And GoogleMaps was actually fairly accurate about how long it would take me to walk to the hospital.  I was surprised at how few people there were, but I suppose the rain plus it being early afternoon on Saturday...  It did mean I got through quickly.  (temp: 98.4F, pulse: 68, BP: 96/60)  I am next eligible to give blood Nov. 28.

I deposited L's check, bought paper towels, came home and changed out of my rain-touched (yes, I did use my umbrella) clothes into pajamas, and did a load of laundry (including putting it all away).  And felt sleepy doing my Gandhi reading.  Sigh.  So I laid down and didn't-really-nap for much of the afternoon.  I finished the book reading (though I haven't started the online readings), and watched the film clips from Friday, and started my discussion board response.

Prayer from assorted church communities:

UCN: Lillian E. is in the ICU at Brigham with some fluid/blood in her brain after some kind of brain bleed
SCBC: Pastor Vic's wife Mary (age 73) died on Sept. 26
CHPC: LizC's mom (Betty, age 85) died last night after a long illness
FCS: LizD's grandmother had a stroke and is likely in her last days. Liz is particularly saddened that she won't be around to meet her great-granddaughter.
