[Rest and re/New] Winning, Losing and Things In Between

Last night was #2 in Rest and re/New's July series on "Winning, Losing, and Things In Between." Our Sacred Text was the Beatitudes (Luke's version as told in The Message and Matthew's version as told in the NRSV, plus "Lead Me, Lord" was one of our opening songs).

In reflecting, Keith commented that one rendering of "the meek shall inherit the earth" (which almost always makes me think of that song in Little Shop of Horrors, btw) is "the dispossessed shall return to their land" -- which Kate B. pointed out is in keeping with Jubilee.
