[Seventh Monday after Epiphany / Last Monday before Lent] joy sadhana had today off from work

"Joy Sadhana is a daily practice in the observation of joy."

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light. And they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. (Isaiah 9:2, Handel's Messiah)

Good things about today:
  • I got ~9 hours of sleep.
  • A college friend said I'm "one of the people of highest integrity [she] know[s]."

I'd reshared a thing on facebook:
    Integrity Feels Best
    • Even when it makes parts of my life harder
    • Even when it allows others an unfair advantage
    • Even when it requires uncomfortable conversations
    • Even when it exposes my weaknesses
    • Even when it means I won't fit in
    • Even when no on else will know the difference
    • Even when it requires me to treat others better than they've treated me
  • I started reading The Fault in Our Stars .
Things I did well today:
  • I kept saying I was going to force myself to go clothes shopping today ... but I really didn't wanna ... so I hung out at home on Twitter/Tumblr/etc. I was going downtown this evening anyway, so while down there I tried various stores. No success (and I def. didn't have a good attitude -- it didn't help that this was pre-dinner), but I did follow through on my commitment.
  • I won 10 Hershey's Kisses at SE trivia night.
  • I offered someone a Lenten practice suggestion which she thought was a good idea.
Things I am looking forward to (doing [better]) tomorrow:
["anything that you're looking forward to, that means you're facing tomorrow with joy, not trepidation," as Ari says]
