[Eighth Day of Christmas]

Tues. Jan. 1, 2013

bff Shared this on my fb Timeline, commenting "Relevant to ALL THE THINGS (incarnation, that which Christ has not assumed...)":
Dear Human: You’ve got it all wrong. You didn’t come here to master unconditional love. That is where you came from and where you’ll return. You came here to learn personal love. Universal love. Messy love. Sweaty love. Crazy love. Broken love. Whole love. Infused with divinity. Lived through the grace of stumbling. Demonstrated through the beauty of… messing up. Often. You didn’t come here to be perfect. You already are. You came here to be gorgeously human. Flawed and fabulous. And then to rise again into remembering.
Googling adds:
But unconditional love? Stop telling that story.

Love in truth doesn't need any adjectives.
It doesn't require modifiers.
It doesn't require the condition of perfection.

It only asks you to show up.
And do your best.
That you stay present and feel fully.
That you shine and fly and laugh and cry and hurt and heal and fall and get back up and play and work and live and die as YOU.

It's enough.

It's Plenty.

YHWH God said to Moses, "Tell Aaron and Aaron's heirs: This is how you will bless the Israelites. Say to them,
'May YHWH bless you and keep you!
May YHWH's face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!
May YHWH look kindly upon you, and give you peace!'
"Thus will they invoke my Name over the Israelites, and then I myself will bless them!"

The Aaronic blessing
Good things about today:
  • brief email conversation with Scott
  • digging through the freezer, I found I'm not out of frozen mixed vegetables after all -- though I will need to restock on frozen berries soon
  • lazy day is kind of enjoyable -- though not something I want to do all the time
Things I did well today:
  • paid rent
  • washed dishes
  • wished my sister-in-law a Happy Birthday on facebook
Things I am looking forward to (doing [better]) tomorrow:
["anything that you're looking forward to, that means you're facing tomorrow with joy, not trepidation," as Ari says]
  • I wouldn't mind being on vacation for additional days, but I know that going back to work means I can get started on the stuff I know is waiting for me (from before the break -- I have NOT been checking my work email over the break) and I don't have any particular feelings of dread about going back to work (though I am not excited about navigating lunch with reduced food court).
