Cancer Horoscope for week of November 21, 2002
St. Rose of Lima (1586-1617) was so determined not to be lead into sin by her pretty face that she disfigured it with lye and pepper. Though you've never gone that far, Cancerian, you too have hidden or wounded your own beauty. You too have been afraid to reveal the raw majesty of your real self. Please don't do that any more. Reject the pathological notion that undervaluing yourself can serve any good at all. To seal your commitment, I urge you to make Rose of Lima your anti-patron saint.
stumbledhere and company on Saturday. I got taken out to lunch, and apparently i was helpful. Go me.
Buffy with trijinx and sarrin on Sunday. Yay for that, and then Rena and i hung out and babbled about everything for an obscene amount of time, so that was good, too.
LBTA training on Sunday was good, and i’ve been touching base with more people, which is always good. (tranceballerina, of course i missed you, silly girl. I hadn’t realized you were moving to Florida so soon. Hope all is going well.)
Today in the mail i got this year’s interterm catalog, this year’s Smith directory, and my NaNoWriMo t-shirt (mine’s the “No plot? No problem!” one, ladies jersey). All the interterm stuff that i would be interested in taking is conveniently offered the last couple weeks.
Prison Industrial Complex Through Film January 13-17, 9:30-11:30am
Do Dung Beetles Have Moral Rights? Topics in Environmental Ethics January 20-24, 9:30-11:30am
Vegetarian Cooking on a Shoestring January 20-24, 3:15-5:15pm
There’s also a conference (“Homeland Insecurity: Civil Liberties, Repression and Citizenship in the 1950s”) January 23-26 which might be interesting.
Am irked that Petra’s Buffy class didn’t get approved.
I also hear rumors of someone having a massive J-term party. *makes hopeful face*
