Strawberry awards: Horror
I like me some dark fic but usually wouldn't read "horror," so I was surprised at how many of the nominees I'd already read. [To clarify: I'm reading the nominees 'cause I'm one of them so I wanna vote.]
Also: It's v. hard to write Reavers believably (getting into their heads, that is) in large part of course because we have so little to go on from canon.
I find the pairing representation in the non-canon romance
spread interesting. Slash
gets its own category, which makes me think "non-canon romance" should be retitled "non-canon het" (and how much some of the nominees can be listed as "romance" is of course its own question). Oh, and there is a canon romance
category, which of course begs its own questions.
Oh, and people still do the Leave-a-comment-Then-link-to-the-resulti
ng-URL thing that drives me nuts.
