full of grace, all the beauty just keeps shaking me

[Friday] music (and movie) memes

I saw the Somerville Theater marquee today "September 8 Duncan Sheik and Vienna Teng" and thought of musesfool.

Here are the rules:
- Answer all the questions with the song titles of one band/group/artist. Multiple albums are fine (recommended, in fact).
- State the band/group/artist you're using in the subject line.
- Use songs whose titles answer the question, not songs whose lyrics do. Not all of us know these songs, so it's not as fun.
- Covers are NOT legit unless it is on a normal (non-live) CD.

For a true 10 questions challenge, do this without the aid of the internet/CDs/outside sources.

Frankenmix 4 already? I haven't even finished listening to all the mixes I downloaded last time.

1. A song that could have written about/for you.
2. A song for that bad day to end all bad days.
3. A song about the end of the world.
4. A song about the devil.
5. A song that reminds you of your favorite pair of jeans.
6. A song for lying to your mother.
7. A drunk song.
8. A song for truth.
9. A song you could have written about somebody else.
10. A song to listen to while watching a fire burn.
11. A song about an angel.
12. A modern-day lullaby.

As always, you may be as abstract or specific as you wish. And providing downloads is optional--all the challenge requires is a tracklisting.

(via escritoireazul) Apparently there's a movie version of the 1001 Books to Read Before You Die.

I'm not even gonna do the "Italicize ones I have some intention of seeing." Feel free to tell me which ones I should see. (The classics are probably already on my list.) No spoilers allowed.

In going through this list there were definitely movies that I thought, "Okay, I can see why this is on the list, 'cause it was groundbreaking or formative or whatever, even if I don't think it's worth much as a movie in and of itself," but there are no queer films on this list. I take issue with that.

Anyway, I count 90 of the movies here I've seen.
