older Cordelia

Also, there was a carnival in Wakefield.

I was checking out the RMN GC blog today, and saw that Sean had posted about the Call to Prayer we've been singing this Easter.  Which then prompted it to run through my head.
Weeping may come; weeping may come in the night,
When dark shadows cloud our sight.
Joy comes with the dawn; joy comes with the morning sun;
Joy springs from the tomb and scatters the night with her song,
Joy comes with the dawn.

I did ~20min in the weight room this morning.

One of the tv's was showing some dark-lit drama and I was like, "Is that Lilah Morgan?  and not Holland Mathers but totally a Wolfram & Hart guy?  and okay I think that's Gavin." I couldn't place the scene, though.  But then the next scene there was a low-rider driving into in an alley and it was totally Angel and Gunn and Cordelia and Wesley and Fred, so I knew I had to be watching Angel.  The next scene I was like, "Sahjhan--I mean Holtz!"  I actually didn't recognize Darla until she started to go into labor.  (Charmed was on next -- I don't have insta-recognition for that show, but I did manage to name the show before the opening credits -- but about ten minutes in, someone changed it back from TNT to NESN HD.)

I sat outside the SOM/WEST library reading between work and group, and a woman commented on my book -- 'cause it's rare that people sit out in public reading a book called "Loving Jesus."  She goes to a "growing charismatic evangelical church" by Matignon.  I had already named Cambridge Welcoming Ministries as my church before she said that, and I felt cowardly about not following up and saying something like, "Yeah, mine is a small church too, vibrant ... particular mission to include GLBT persons as full participants in the Body of Christ."  Oh well.  I'm actually somewhat curious to go visit her church just 'cause my experience with churches that would be so described is so minimal.

CAUMC small group tonight literally lasted five hours, in Wakefield.  It was Trelawney's last night as Leader, so we talked about what we had gotten from the group and did round-up Affirmations and yeah, it was good, but I barely skimmed my flist/email when I got home and am totally going to bed.

I do not approve of upper-80s in late-April.

At lunch, MaryAlice said they went to Olive Garden last night and she got steak tender with gorgonzola fettucini alfredo.
I said, "It's like you put a cow in a blender."

Ranjan was talking about the Master Cleanse (I'm unclear as to how we got talking about colonics and etc.), said each day you have basically, "A gallon of water, a cup of of maple syrup, a half cup of lemon juice --"
"And the blood of an unborn baby," I quipped.  I think I had inappropriate baby commentary on the brain from last night's small group.

There was CAUMC book study tonight (in which I did not make any inappropriate baby jokes), but it was sort of scattered (though interesting) 'cause I was the only one who had actually read the entire book recently, so we talked about a bunch of other stuff mixed in, but we're meeting again in a month on the same book, which pleases me, because Mike will totally have read it by then.  (Did I know that Mike rides a motorcycle?  Hott.)
