Happy Boxing Day.

While I was typing up LJ after last night's CSI rerun, the power went poof.  (Hence the phone post.)  My brother flipped open his cellphone to use as a flashlight so we could find the actual flashlights.  Smart boy.  We could see police cars cordoning off the street on the corner, so we went off to check it out, depsite the rain.  (And I, I put a coat on, while my brother remained in a t-shirt.  He is usurping my position as The One Who Feels Not The Cold!)  We walked almost all the way down the street and saw actual road flares at the other end.  Walking back up we saw where power lines had come down.  Two big white parallel power lines.  And it looked like they swept through the snow a bit in the front lawns of the two houses next to them.  That musta been freaky.  We didn't ask anyone when they thought the electric company would show up, but the power actually came back right around midnight, which was impressive 'cause that was less than two hours.  I was already impressed that the police cars showed up so fast, though there were probably more cruisers out than usual since it was Christmas night and all.

Cat called me this afternoon, which was exciting.  Yay for people!

And that's about it.  I'm off to catch up on LJ, and then damn I really need to start on my FemGen fic.
