The Shower of Stoles Project An exhibit of dozens of liturgical stoles from gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people of faith from North America (Alaska to Hawaii, Canada to Cuba). The stole is a traditional clerical vestment that signals religious authority. People represented in the exhibition are active leaders in their faith communities, some of whom have been barred from serving because of their sexual orientation. The collection was created to give a voice to these people.
