Commence: long weekend

Prof.B. just called. I recognized his number and thought, "But he told me to go home early today; why is he calling?" So I answered, "Good afternoon, this is Elizabeth," and he said, "Go home." Apparently he was going to call earlier to remind me but this thing at his son's school ran late. Eric had just left to run an errand a few minutes before and been all, "Why are you still here? I thought you were gonna leave early." I'd taken a long lunch to watch the Enron movie with Alyssa, so I felt weird leaving early.

Maybe less than a minute after I hung up with Prof.B., Bianca called -- just to say hello. Yeah, I'd been wondering if they were gonna do their infamous checking to make sure we're all here the day before a long weekend. (I hadn't actually put in for a personaltime hour when I did my time entry yesterday -- yes, they have us put in our Monday-Friday hours on Thursday -- 'cause I was as yet undecided. I just have this Thing about taking time off like at all.)

So I think now I'm free to go. 'Cause leaving a half an hour early will make such a difference, right? :)

Edit: So, before I left the house this morning I checked weather.com for Norwood and Boston -- day and hour-by-hour -- and it was "showers and scattered thunderstorms" starting at 7, so I didn't bring an umbrella (and yes I did mock my mom for bringing an umbrella). I look out the window just now and it's raining -- difficult to tell how heavily. Sigh. Though I don't mind the rain, and it's 78F so it's that good warm rain.

Okay, I was here ~quarter of 9 (as per usual, given how my trains run) so I feel justified in leaving as it's ~quarter to 5 now.
