And speaking of characters who think of Serenity as home... when the Alliance guys whisk Book away after seeing his ident card, Eric said something about was he not really a Shepherd and I said no he really was a Shepherd we just don't know what he was before he was a Shepherd. Eric said, 'So what was he, a king?' I was amused. (And he was frustrated that we never find out. Yeah, I am forever pointing out that Whedon intended there to be more than 14 episodes.)
I love the "big damn heroes" scene even more than I do the dance/gunfire scene, but that line always gives me an uncomfortableness after the movie.
Aww, Simon getting Kaylee's chair at the ending dinner scene. Not sure if I had ever noticed that before.
Simon is so sarcastic. I had forgotten about this -- especially since he's treated as though his refined background is his defining characteristic (along with his doctoring skillz and mad love for his sister). It's also a little weird because the sarcasm will burst out in anger and frustration at times when perhaps he should be more concerned with staying on the good side of the person(s) causing his distress.
