{{work whinge || my task for next summer, I have decided, is to manage to still be super-on-the-ball while also not stressing myself out unduly -- because in my shift toward not stressing out past the point of usefulness, I've also stopped being as on the ball as I used to be, which is a problem Edit: On this date one year ago I started at this position -- though it wasn't quite this position, as I no longer support Prof.N. and do support FormerUnitHead; but it was my start in this Unit, and in the position that morphed into my permanent one -- hiring papers anniversary is in January}}

"I want to spend every single night for three months going out with a different famous actress. You know, Halle Berry one night, Salma Hayek the next, and then walk on the beach holding hands with Leonardo DiCaprio.[Edit: I e-mailed the above link to Mary Alice, who loves George Clooney, and she e-mailed back: "Think I can get on his date circuit? :)"]
"People would still buy the magazines, they'd still buy the pictures, but they would always go, `I don't know if these guys were putting us on or not.'"

The consensus amidst the girl posse (yes, I dubbed them this on a whim last night in an LJ comment) is that Eric owes me big 'cause cost of ticket and all. Nicole says that type of cluelessness doesn't bode well, period, that it would be common courtesy to offer to pay the cost of the ticket since he knew I'd already bought them. I pointed out that one of Cailin's big selling points on this whole thing has been, "He's so dense" [though she meant it in terms of "He might just not realize he is/could be interested in you That Way"]. I have perhaps been desensitized by the last time someone cancelled on me, plus I'm less tight-fisted about money now that I have a well-paying salaried job. (I did mention this at lunch, though -- asking Mary Alice and Katie if they were available/wanted to come -- and Mary Alice was a bit chiding, which I appreciated. And I did get to be all "He's ditching me for his cousin's birthday" -- 'cause Mary Alice asked if it was for his mom's birthday; he said he's going mainly because it's one of the few times he'll get to see his grandparents, which I can validate.)
Both Nicole and Mary Alice have said they have plans in flux for Friday so may be able to come with me or may not, so the offer's still open if anyone wants to jump on an opportunity to see one of my favorite musicals with me this Friday.
Layna's party is the 21st, which means I can attend, yay! (I also now have social plans for at least one day of the weekend every single weekend in October.)
